Our music at Emmaus Bible Fellowship is purposely intended to glorify God. It is not a performance given for the religious entertainment of the congregation, but rather it is an act of worship offered up in praise to our awesome and holy Lord. As such, we want our music to reflect a profound reverence for the divine majesty of the King of heaven. Furthermore, we believe that our singing should resound with the joy of those whose sins have been forgiven and whose home is in heaven. We believe that the words of the songs that we offer in praise to the God of truth should be biblically sound. We are also persuaded that the music itself communicates a message and has a powerful effect on the human soul (1 Sam. 16:23). The words of a song and the music of the song should harmonize to communicate the same message.
Therefore, we are committed to conservative music that is conducive to worshiping God in spirit and in truth. To that end, we sing psalms, the traditional hymns of the Christian faith, and spiritual songs.
